Fairfax Station, Va – The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team had a strong showing at the George Mason Invitational on Sunday as the Hawks' Varsity 4 placed first in its Grand Final, while the Varsity 8 tied for second in its Grand Final.

How It Happened
• The Varsity 4 opened the morning's heats placing second in its race with a qualifying time of 7:54.3 to advance to the Grand Final.
• In the Grand Final, St. Joe's Varsity 4 bested the competition, finishing 1.6 second ahead of Bucknell to win the event in a time of 7:48.2.
• The Hawks' Varsity 8 placed first in its morning heat, posting a time of 6:55.4 to advance to the Grand Final.
• Saint Joseph's Varsity 8 crossed the line at the same time as Bucknell, 6:58.9, to tie for second place in the Grand Final.
• St. Joe's 2nd Varsity 8 crossed the line during the morning heat in a time of 7:31.3 to finish fourth.
• In the Petite Final, the Hawks' 2nd Varsity 8 improved upon its previous time, placing second in 7:13.0.
