BRONX, N.Y. – Behind a complete-game victory from
Taylor Trowbridge, sixth seed Saint Joseph's advanced to the second day of the Atlantic 10 Championship. After falling to third seed Loyola Chicago, 7-1, in their opening game, the Hawks bounced back behind Trowbridge to down fourth seed Fordham, 4-1, in the elimination portion of the conference postseason on Wednesday at Bahoshy Field.
With the victory, the Hawks advance in the elimination bracket and will face the lowest-seeded losing team from Thursday's opening two games at 3 p.m.
How It Happened - Game Two

Meghan Sinkus singled home
Haley McMenamin to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the top of the second.

Shelby LaMont followed with a sacrifice fly that scored
Sierra Fretz to make it 2-0.
• Sinkus came around to score on a single by
Gianna Muhaw to extend the advantage to 3-0.
• Fordham's Eva Koratsis connected on a solo home run in the bottom of the second to make it 3-1.
• Muhaw added an insurance run in the top of the sixth as Fretz scored from third on a fielder's choice.
• Trowbridge gave up a lead-off single to start the bottom of the sixth, but retired the next six Rams in order to close out the win.

• Fretz was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.

• Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as
Sarah Cancila scored from second on an errant throw by the Ramblers' catcher.
• Loyola Chicago tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first as Ava Bieneman scored from third on a wild pitch.
• Sydney Barnett connected on a three-run home run to make it 4-1 in favor of the Ramblers.
• A sacrifice bunt by Jocelyn Currie scored Haley Wallace to extend Loyola Chicago's lead to 5-1 later in the first.
• Sierra Sass gave the Ramblers a 6-1 lead with a bunt single that scored Riley Owens.
• A RBI single by Bieneman capped a seven-run first for Loyola Chicago to make it 7-1.
