PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team returns to Springfield for the second-consecutive fall season, taking part in a scrimmage day with a doubleheader against some of the best teams in the region on Saturday, October 12 at Springfield High School.
Lehigh, Maryland and Penn State are all joining the Hawks for the scrimmage day, all four teams coming off NCAA Tournament appearances.
Penn State finished the season 11-5 in 2024, falling in the Big 10 championship game before narrowly falling to #7/6 Georgetown in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Maryland, who fell to the Nittany Lions in the Big 10 semifinals, surged past Princeton, Duke and Virginia to make it to the national championship game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia before falling to Notre Dame. Lehigh rounds out the group as the defending Patriot League champions, suffering defeat late to Johns Hopkins in the first round of the NCAA Tournament after holding a fourth quarter lead.
Saint Joseph's, winners of 25-consecutive conference games, held the nation's longest winning streak last year with 12 wins in a row to surge the Hawks to the second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
