MEDIA, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team opened its spring semester home slate on Friday morning, falling to Temple, 6-1, at Springton Tennis Club.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The visitors swept the three doubles flights to earn the opening point of the match.
 
• Wiktoria Czerny grabbed a straight-sets win for the Hawks in the second flight, but the Owls secured the match victory with wins in the other five flights.
 
HAWK TALK
"The squad came out a little slow today in doubles," head coach Jeff Puhan said.  "In singles we had a few good individual performances, highlighted by a solid win by Wiktoria in the number-two position.  Addison Melfi also had a solid performance in the third flight before falling in the breaker.  We made some improvements today and are looking to improve tomorrow against Seton Hall."
