MEDIA, Pa. – It came down to the final set, but the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team ultimately fell to Hofstra, 4-3, at Springton Tennis Club on Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hofstra opened the match with an early lead after taking the doubles point.
Charlotte Kordonowy and
Brooke Tackett won their third-flight match, 6-3, but the Pride locked up the point with wins in the other two flights.
• Saint Joseph's took the lead after the first two singles matches were completed.
Victoria Tracey finished off her second-flight opponent in straight sets before Kordonowy battled back from a set down in the fourth flight.
• The visitors went back ahead with wins in the first and sixth flights, but
Gisele Tang finished off her fifth-flight opposition in straight sets to tie the overall match. Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, the Pride were victorious in the third flight to take the win.

"Tough loss today," head coach
Jeff Puhan said. "The team really battled in singles, giving us a chance to win every match. We need to find a way to secure that doubles point, which will take pressure off our singles play. Now we get ready for Lehigh tomorrow."
