Women’s Track and Field Compete at Philadelphia Metro

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's track and field team closed out the regular season at The Ott Center on Friday, taking part in the Philadelphia Metro hosted by Penn.
 
TRACK EVENTS
  • Sabrina Paz opened the event with a personal best in the mile with a time of 5:09.64 to finish in the top half of the field. Senior Maura Keane followed with a finish of 5:17.86. Sophomore Grace Fennell also set her PR in the event with a time of 5:18.94. Madison Buddenbohn finished a second later, the third Hawk to set a PR with a time of 5:19.83.
  • Felicia Oh competed in the 60m hurdles, taking a time of 9.52 on the afternoon.
  • Olivia Binns led St. Joe's in the 60m with a time of 8.02s. Judith Walker (8.03s) and Maya Adams (8.11s) followed behind as all three Hawks finished within a tenth of a second.
  • Jessica Rubio led the Hawks in the 400m after finishing second (57.45s). She was followed by Kimberly Johnson, crossing the finish with a time of 58.75s. as both set seasonal bests in the event. Camille Bertin set a personal record after crossing the line in 1:02.62.
  • Tess Crossan paced the Hawks in the 500m, finishing fourth (1:16.68) in the event, Gemma Chevoor crossed the line in 1:16.93 to take sixth place.
  • Quinn O'Brien set a PR in the 800m, finishing third in the race with a 2:15.0 time. Alexis Doherty ran a seasonal best after finishing with an effort of 2:23.92.
  • Ava Curry took the top spot in the 1000m, setting a new personal best while besting the rest of the field with her time of 2:50.69. Freshmen Danika Slits finished third in the event after crossing the finish in 3:02.67.
  • In the 300m, Stephanie Cristinzio finished with a time of 42.48s.
  • Emily Peifer set a personal best in the 3000m with a time of 10:42.84. Shortly following was senior Lauren Charboneau, crossing the line with a time of 10:57.24.
 
FIELD EVENTS
  • Lily Ferguson set a personal record on the afternoon with a leap of 5.51m in the long jump.
 
UP NEXT:
St. Joe's heads to Virginia Beach, Va. next weekend for the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships. The two-day meet begins on Friday, February 28.
