MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team held serve at home on Wednesday, topping Rider by a 4-2 score at the SJU Tennis Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Hawks rallied to win the doubles point; after the Broncs took the top flight,
Ana Ocasio and
Gisele Tang locked up their third-flight match before
Charlotte Kordonowy and
Brooke Tackett were victorious in the second to give SJU an early lead.
• The visitors drew level with a win in the first singles flight, but Kordonowy took her match in the third flight before
Wiktoria Czerny won in the second to put the Hawks on the brink.
• Rider drew within a point with a win in the fifth flight, but Tang won a three-set victory in the fourth flight to clinch the match for the Hawks.

"A good team win for us today," head coach
Jeff Puhan said. "The elements were tough and I thought we handled it pretty well. Credit to Rider for challenging us, as we were shorthanded today.
Gisele Tang got the first clinch point of her career.
We now have two Atlantic 10 opponents that we need to focus on."
