COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Playing their first game in close to home this season, the Saint Joseph's softball team was upended by the Maryland Terrapins 8-0 on Tuesday night.
The game was scoreless into the bottom of the third as
Jules Scogna surrendered just two hits in the opening frames. The Terrapins bunched the majority of their runs in the third and fourth innings.
For St. Joe's,
Kayla Tauber reached base three times with a single and two walks.
Meghan Sinkus and
Riley York also each had a hit for SJU.
The Hawks are back in action on Thursday, opening play at the Purple Classic, hosted by Grand Canyon University. Saint Joseph's takes on New Mexico at 6:00 p.m. before an 8:30 first pitch against the host GCU Lopes.
