Rossetto Heads Hawks Past Merrimack for Mulqueen’s First Win

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team opened the 2025 season with a 1-0 win at Merrimack on Thursday evening, giving head coach Tim Mulqueen his first victory at the helm of the Hawks.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Hawks were able to capitalize from a set piece on the second corner kick of the game. Mazzotta went short on the corner kick before receiving it back to his feet. The Italian whipped in a cross that found the head of Tommaso Rossetto, who flashed his goal to the far lower corner before heading to the corner flag to celebrate.
  • Cooper Jennings was called into action in the first minute of the second half. The Hawk shot stopper was able to cleanly collect low at his feet to keep the Warriors out of the net.
  • The Hawks registered six of the next seven shots, forcing two saves out of the Merrimack keeper.
