BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's cross country team placed 13th out of 35 schools in the Men's College Gold 8K race at Friday's Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University. The Hawks also fielded a squad of runners in the earlier Open 8K race.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• In the Gold Race,
Ryan Cichocki led the Hawks with a 37th-place finish in 24:49.5.
Gavin Mogck was 57th with a time of 25:05.9, while
Andrea Botteon's 25:31.5 placed him 97th out of 302 finishers.

Ian Romea and
Matt Hoffman rounded out the scoring quintet for the Hawks; Romea crossed in 124th place with a personal-best time of 25:45.4, while Hoffman wasn't far, crossing in 25:52.6, good for 139th.
•
Brendan Hefferan turned in a time of 25:57.9 on the day, while
Ethan Fingerhut (26:23.4) and
Jackson Kane (26:36.3) were also in the field for the meet's top-tier men's race.
• In the earlier Open 8K,
Joey Lanci was 42nd out of 587 finishers with a time of 25:54.0, while
Logan Miller placed 50th in 26:02.3.
Christian Napoli matched his personal best down to the tenth of a second, finishing in 26:18.1 for 72nd place.

Eli Stoudt (26:45.3),
Nathan Boyer (26:48.7), and
Jack Brannon (29:22.5) rounded out the field for the Hawks.
