MEDIA, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday, defeating St. Bonaventure before falling to Rhode Island at the Springton Tennis Club.

• The teams played singles matches, and the Hawks took the first and third flights to grab an early 2-0 lead.  Wiktoria Czerny cruised in the top flight before Elena Fleming won in the third.
 
• The Bonnies drew level with wins in the second and fourth flights, but Gisele Tang won in the sixth flight before June Tronhus outlasted her opponent in the fifth to clinch the win for the Hawks.
 
Rhode Island 4, Saint Joseph's 0
 
• In the second match of the day, the Rams won all four singles matches that were completed.
