MERION STATION, Pa. – A quartet of singles wins carried the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team to a 4-1 win over George Mason at the SJU Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The visitors claimed the doubles point with wins in the first and third flights.
Elena Fleming and
June Tronhus earned a win for the Hawks in the second flight.
• The Hawks turned the tide in singles play as Tronhus rolled to a win in the fourth flight to tie the score.
Gisele Tang followed with a straight sets win of her own in the sixth to give the Hawks the lead.
•
Amari O'Brien then finished off her opponent in the fifth flight before Fleming clinched the third flight and with it, the match.
UP NEXT
The Hawks host Haverford on Saturday.
