UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's women's cross country team competed at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational at Penn State's Cross Country Course on Friday morning.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Grace Rudder led the Hawks in the six-kilometer race with a time of 21:54.9, good for 30th place in the field of 118 finishers.
 
• Sabrina Paz wasn't far behind, placing 38th with a 22:07.1, a new personal best at the distance.  Ali Fink was 47th, clocking in at a personal-best 22:16.5, while Jonalee Adames and Chloe Care rounded out the scorers for the Hawks; Adames was in 56th with a personal-best 22:31.5 and Care's 22:36.7 was good for 60th.
 
• Khya D'Angelo clocked a 22:39.8 for the Hawks, while Katrina Endres finished the race in 23:38.4.  Abby Tuturice turned in a 23:41.3, with Grace Fennell at 24:21.4 and Noelia Reyes not far behind in 24:34.1 and Ava Lucariello right behind her in 24:36.9.  Payton Kochanski clocked in with a 24:53.1 as well.
 
• As a team, the Hawks placed seventh of nine teams; Syracuse led the way with 32 points, while host Penn State was four points behind in second.  Pitt and Monmouth were third and fourth with 90 and 95 points, respectively, with Maryland in fifth with 124 and Bucknell sixth with 178.  Saint Joseph's scored 190 points, ahead of eighth-place American with 235 and ninth-place Buffalo with 268.
