Biography

Was named Most Valuable Player of the Philadelphia Big Five as a senior during the 1958-59 Season... In his senior season he averaged 20 points per game in city-series play, leading SJU to a perfect 4-0 slate... Served as team captain his senior year, leading team to a 22-5 mark and a berth in the NCAA Tournament... Tallied 11.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game that season... As a junior, he was second on the team in scoring (13.2 ppg.), rebounding (8.6 rpg.) and assists (49)... That team posted an 18-9 mark, advancing to the NIT... In his three year career he tallied 807 points and 563 rebounds... Following graduation he played for Allentown in the Eastern League... He is a member of both the Saint Joseph's Men's Basketball Hall of Fame and the Philadelphia Big Five Hall of Fame... Native of Philadelphia and graduate of West Catholic High School.
