Joe Lunardi

Biography

Joe Lunardi enters his 28th season on the Saint Joseph’s Sports Network (SJSN) as color analyst and has served as co-host of Phil Martelli’s "HawkTalk," both on radio and television. He covered his 1,000th SJU game in 2016.

In June 2017, Lunardi took on a new role as director of marketing and broadcast services for the Athletic Department, following more than three decades as the University's senior communications and marketing professional. A 1982 Saint Joseph’s graduate, Lunardi returned to his alma mater in 1987 as director of media relations. He later served as director of external relations, director of university communications, assistant vice president for marketing communications and finally vice president for marketing and communications.

Away from the University, Lunardi is the nationally-known "Bracketologist" for ESPN, ESPN Radio, and ESPN.com. His ESPN.com bracketology site generates over 30 million hits per season. He does numerous public speaking engagements each year on behalf of Saint Joseph’s University, the Atlantic 10 and college basketball.

In 1995 and 2004, Lunardi received the William J. Bennett Award for dedication and loyalty to the SJU men's basketball program. Lunardi and his wife, Pam, a 1984 SJU graduate, reside in Drexel Hill, Pa., and have two daughters, Emily and Elizabeth.
