SJU's first All-American in track and field with his sixth-place finish in the shot put at the 1952 NCAA Championships... Scored for the Hawks in the IC4A Championships in 1952... Set the Philadelphia Metropolitan area record in the shot put as a junior with a toss of 51 feet, 4 3/4 inches... Served as team captain his senior year... Native of West Philadelphia and graduate of St. Thomas More... Inducted into the SJU Men's Track Hall of Fame in 1976... Named to the Middle Atlantic Conference 100 Track and Field Century Team in 2012... Still competed in the shot put in the senior games in New England and competed at nationals while in his 60's... Worked at the Polaroid Corporation internationally for 30 years and was the group vice president for worldwide marketing... Has also competed show dogs and won the national championship in 2012... He and his wife, Rhoda, have three daughters and live in Nantucket, Mass.
