Women's Basketball Wins A-10 Title, Earns NCAA Bid
The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team captured the 2013 Atlantic 10 title and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with a 47-46 victory over Fordham at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  more | championship central | photos>

Women's Basketball to Face Vanderbilt in NCAA Tournament on Saturday
The SJU women's basketball team earned a #9 seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament and will face eighth-seeded Vanderbilt on Saturday, March 23 at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn.  The game tips off at 11:05 a.m. and will be televised on ESPN2. more | photos | bracket | video | tickets>

Student-Athletes Recognized for Academic Achievement
SJU Student-Athletes to Host Sneaker Drive
The SJU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be collecting gently worn sneakers which will be donated to St. John's Hospice in Philadelphia. The Sneaker Drive will run from April 2-16 and donations can be left at drop-off bins located in both the SJU Athletic Center Atrium and O'Pake Recreation Center lobby.

Dear Fellow Hawk,

Please join me in congratulating the women’s basketball team on capturing the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship in Brooklyn and receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.  The men’s basketball team also reached the postseason for the second consecutive year, earning a bid to the NIT.

The basketball teams will hold their annual awards banquets on April 16 (women) and 18 (men), respectively, at Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill, Pa.

I'd also like to point out that we will be hosting SJU's SheUnited Women's Conference in Hagan Arena this weekend.  This year marks the 40th anniversary of Title IX and we are excited to support this significant campus program.

In terms of our spring teams, their seasons are well underway and each of them has delivered notable results.  I encourage you to check out our schedules and come cheer on our student-athletes.

We appreciate and thank you for your continued support.
