Biography

Made his mark both at Saint Joseph's and internationally for U.S. Rowing... Coxswain for the Hawks' Varsity 8 that captured three Dad Vail Regatta medals, including the program's first gold medal in 1970... Was instrumental in establishing the women's rowing program at SJU and served as coach... Competed in the 4+ at six World Championships between 1974 and 1983, winning a silver medal in 1981 and a bronze medal in 1982... Also competed in the 8+ at the 1977 and 1979 World Championships… Earned a bronze medal in the 4+ at the 1975 Pan Am Games... Member of two U.S. Olympic Teams, winning a silver medal in the 8+ in 1984... Spent five years as an assistant coach for the U.S. National Team, guiding his boat to the 1995 World Championships… Coached at Wichita State and Northeastern... Founded the rowing program at Tulane, where he has served as head coach since 1985... Native of Savannah, Ga., who now resides in New Orleans, La.
