Beginning her second year as a member of the Saint Joseph's Athletics Business Office as a Business Analyst is Stephanie McCaffrey.

McCaffrey transitioned to her new position in the summer of 2019 after serving as administrative assistant for men’s basketball during the 2018-19 season.

A former Saint Joseph’s women’s basketball standout, McCaffrey served as an assistant coach with the women's team for 10 seasons. During her 10 seasons on the women's basketball staff, she developed the Hawks' post players while the team made seven postseason appearances and captured the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship.

Prior to becoming an assistant coach in 2007, she was the Hawks' director of basketball operations for two seasons.

McCaffrey was one of the top defensive players in SJU history, finishing as the Hawks’ career leader in blocked shots. Named to the 2003-04 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team and the A-10 All-Defensive Team, tnative helped SJU post an 80-43 record and earn three consecutive bids to the Postseason WNIT.

A two-time Academic All-District II and A-10 All-Academic Team selection, McCaffrey graduated from SJU in 2004 with a degree in elementary/special education.

In 2004, McCaffrey became the 19th women's basketball player from Saint Joseph's to play professionally as she joined the University of Limerick/Augninish of the Irish Women's SuperLeague.

McCaffrey resides in her hometown of Drexel Hill, Pa., with her husband, Jim, and their three children, Keara, Kaylin and James IV.
