He is known to SJU fans as the best half-miler (880) in SJU history... He lost just one 880 regular season race in his four-year career... Earned All-America honors, placing 5th at 1955 NCAA Championships in 880 (1:51.9) as a junior... He also set school records in 880 and mile... His dominance on the track was shown when he won 880 at three straight Middle Atlantic Conference Championships... Anchored the mile relay which won the Penn Relays three straight seasons setting MAC, school and meet record during his junior year... He set meet records for the mile and 880 at MAC championships as a junior while helping SJU to a MAC Championship... Was named team captain his senior season... Placed third in voting for Most Outstanding Performer at prestigious Quantico Relays as senior... Hails from Havertown, Pa. and is a product of Havertown Twp. High School.
