Biography

A four-year varsity rower who later served as an assistant (1970-71) and head varsity coach (1973-75) at Saint Joseph's... He captained the 1968-69 rowing team, serving as the stroke on varsity eight which won three regattas, including Bergen Cup for third straight year... He placed second to Georgetown at 1969 Dad Vail Regatta... As a senior in 1969-70, he moved to the bow to help the varsity eight win the Dad Vail Regatta for first and only time in school history... Glavin stroked the 1968 National Champion Intermediate Four as a member of the Vesper Club... After coaching at SJU, he had coaching stints at Harriton High, Baldwin School and Vesper Club, helping Baldwin to multiple national titles... He also coached seven US National Teams in junior and elite rowing competition... Hails from Philadelphia, Pa. and is a graduate of St. Joseph's Prep.
