Biography

Matt Martucci begins his 12th season as the Hawks' radio play-by-play announcer. He has been with the Saint Joseph’s Sports Network since 2006 and has called over 300 men's basketball games alongside broadcast partner Joe Lunardi including the Hawks’ last two Atlantic 10 championship and NCAA Tournament runs.

A 2006 graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Martucci has called select college basketball games for the ESPN family of networks since 2019. He also currently broadcasts college football and basketball for the recently formed digital and OTA network Stadium. He was hired by Florida-based network beIN Sports in 2016 as their lead play-by-play announcer for Conference USA football on the network's first-ever broadcast of college sports. He has also called ACC soccer and Conference USA basketball for Fox Sports Regional TV and also broadcasts full rules Muay Thai for Las Vegas-based promotion Lion Fight with events airing on CBS Sports Network. 2019 marked the first international broadcasting stops of his career thanks to combat sports with trips to both Italy and Sweden.

He joined Philadelphia’s Sportsradio 94WIP in May 2016 as an update anchor and talk show host after spending five years at competing station 97.5 The Fanatic, where he co-hosted the "Gallen and Martucci" CBS3's Pat Gallen for two years.

The 36-year-old made his debut with Westwood One Radio as an update anchor during its coverage of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and worked in the same capacity for the 2016 Rio Summer and 2018 Pyeong-chang Winter games.

Martucci, who received the William J. Bennett Award for dedication and loyalty to the SJU men's basketball program in 2011, began his broadcasting career with WAER FM 88 at Syracuse University.

A native of Brodheadsville, Pa., he completed his master’s degree in business administration from Saint Joseph’s in December 2010 and resides in South Jersey with his wife, Stephanie and their daughters, Adria (2) and Vienna.
