Biography

Considered one of the all-time greats in SJU basketball... Led the Hawks in scoring average twice, topped the team in assists for three seasons and was the leader in steals all four years... Averaged double figures in points and at least five rebounds in each season... Earned All-Atlantic 10 and All-Big 5 honors three times each, Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America status twice and All-District recognition two times... Was also named the 1986 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and was the Most Valuable Player in the A-10 Tournament as the Hawks took home the conference title... In 1983, he toured Spain with the Atlantic 10 All-Stars, won a gold medal as a member of the 1984 Jones Cup team, and played for the United States in the 1985 World University Games... Participated in the 1984 U.S. Olympic Trials and was one of the final players cut... Selected by the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Draft, making him one of five Hawks at the time who were first-round draft picks... Inducted into both the Big 5 Hall of Fame and the SJU Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992... Hails from Liberty, N.Y. and graduated from Liberty Central High School.
