Saint Joseph's University

Served as the 26th President of Saint Joseph's University from July, 2003 to May, 2011.... During his eight-year tenure at Saint Joseph's, he led many important University initiatives, most notably the agreement to purchase Episcopal Academy's 38-acre Merion campus, now named for alumnus James J. Maguire ’58... Under Fr. Lannon's stewardship, the University vastly upgraded student housing and other facilities on campus including Michael J. Hagan ’85 Arena, and the building of the Ramsay Basketball Center... Payed a significant role in boosting Saint Joseph's academic reputation, while also helping to re-engage the University in its mission, and foster expanded outreach efforts to alumni, governmental leaders, and other external constituencies... Was inducted into the Hall of Fame on December 10, 2011 during the men's basketball game with Creighton, of which he also served as president.
