Kelsey Dominik begins her third season as an assistant coach for the Saint Joseph’s softball program in 2021-22.

Dominik, who is responsible for the Hawks’ pitching staff, came to SJU in 2019-20 after spending last season as an assistant coach at Penn. In her one year with the Quakers, Dominik helped the team finish with a 22-17 record and 13-8 mark in conference play, while five Quakers earned All-Ivy honors.

Prior to joining the staff at Penn, Dominik served as a graduate assistant at La Salle, while during her tenure, the Explorers posted their first 20-win season in nearly a decade.

A four-year standout, Dominik began her collegiate playing career at Temple before completing her it at Coastal Carolina. While with the Owls, she earned Atlantic 10 All-Rookie honors after setting a freshman record for home runs (14) and posting a 15-8 record in the circle. Additionally, Dominik became just the seventh player in Division I history to hit a home run in five-straight games.

Following the dissolution of Temple’s softball program, Dominik transferred to Coastal Carolina where she earned All-Big South Honorable Mention as a pitcher her first season as she led the conference in shutouts (six), ranked second in ERA and finished third in opponent batting average. As a senior, Dominik was named First Team All-Big South as a utility player after ranking second in the league in wins (19) and tying for second in home runs (16) and RBI (52). She’d become the third player in Coastal Carolina history to be drafted professionally as she was selected 12th overall by the Future 1s in the inaugural American Softball Association (ASBA) Draft.

A native of Woolwich Township, New Jersey, Dominik received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Coastal Carolina and master’s degree in nonprofit leadership from La Salle.
