Is tied for 18th on the Devils all time double plays turned list with 12 


2015:  Appeared in 27 games, starting 25, 20 as the designated hitter and five in the outfield..also made four relief pitching appearances and played one game at first base…led the team in batting average (.280) and hits (26)…third on the team in doubles (4) and tied for third in runs scored (12)…toughest to strikeout amongst Devils regulars (1 in every 10.4 plate appearances)…hit safely in nine of his first ten games and 12 of his first 14…went 1-4 in game one vs. Felician College on 4/25…went 2-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in game two vs. Dominican College on 4/19…had a double and two runs scored in game one vs. Dominican…pitched one inning of relief, allowing two unearned runs at Caldwell College on 4/13…had one hit in each game of the doubleheader at Philadelphia University on 4/11…had a double in four at-bats in game one at Concordia College on 4/4…went 2-4 with an RBI in game two at East Stroudsburg University on 4/2…had a single, a walk and a run scored in game two vs. Bloomfield College on 4/1…had a single in each game of the doubleheader vs. Post University on 3/25…scored a run in game one vs. Post…went 1-3 with a walk and a run scored in game two at Nyack College on 3/23… went 2-3 with a walk and a run scored in game one at Nyack…went 3-4 in game two at Chestnut Hill College on 3/19…went 3-5 with a double and two RBI vs. Slippery Rock University in Clearwater, Florida on 3/6…batted 2-4 with two walks, two  runs scored and two RBI vs. Lake Erie College in Clearwater on ¾…had a single and a run scored vs. Walsh University in Clearwater on ¾…tossed four innings of relief vs. Cedarville University in Clearwater on 3/2, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out four….went 2-4 with a run scored vs. Saginaw Valley State College on 3/1.

 

2014:  Played in 34 games, starting 29, splitting time between first base and designated hitter along with making five relief appearances…had a 1.98 earned run average in those five appearances, giving up just three earned runs in 13.2 innings pitched…fourth on the team in batting average, hitting .238…tied for fourth on the team with 24 hits…tied for fifth on the team with seven RBI…had an eight-game hitting streak from 3/23 to 4/6…committed only five errors in 163 chances…went 1-4 with an RBI at West Chester University on 4/24…had a single at Wilmington University on 4/23…was hit by a pitch and also pitched a perfect inning at University of Pennsylvania, retiring the side on nine pitches on 4/16…went 2-4 with an RBI and run scored in game two vs. Philadelphia University on 4/12…had three hits while scoring twice and recording an RBI in game one vs. Caldwell College on 4/11…pitched 3.2 innings in game two vs. Caldwell, allowing one earned run while striking out four…pitched two innings and gave up two earned runs while going 1-3 at the plate with an RBI in game two vs. Concordia on 4/6…had a single in game one vs. Concordia…recorded a single in both games of the doubleheader vs. Concordia on 4/5…went 2-5 in game two at Bloomfield College on 4/2…had a single and an RBI in game one at Bloomfield…had a single in both games of the doubleheader at Millersville University on 3/23, starting what would be an eight-game hitting streak…went 3-5 with a double and two RBI in game one vs. Nyack College on 3/22…also pitched three scoreless innings in relief  in game one vs. Nyack…pitched four innings, allowing one unearned run while striking out three at Rollins College on 3/6…went 2-4 with a double vs. Concordia in Winter Park, Florida on 3/5…had a single at Rollins on 3/3…opened the season with a 1-4 effort vs. Philadelphia University on 2/24 in Bel Air, Maryland.

 

2013:  Appeared in six games, all as a pinch hitter after rehabbing much of the season following knee surgery…had three hits in six pinch hit at-bats for a .500 average…had a double and two RBI at Nyack College on 4/26…recorded a pinch hit single at Chestnut Hill College on 4/16…recorded an RBI single vs. Post University on 4/13

 

Prior to USciences:  Attended Temple University 2011-12 but did not play baseball…Four year player at Central High School…As a senior at Central batted .556 (third highest in Southeastern Pa.) and was named to First Team All-Public League and Second Team All-City…2X Starter on Public League Carpenter Cup Team…batted .455 as a junior and was named to second team All-Public League and third team All-City…team won the Public League Championship…also played two years of JV/Varsity basketball (9th and 10th grades)

 

Personal:  Oldest child of Thomas and Marian Gervasi…Chose USciences because it provided him with an opportunity to play collegiate baseball while pursuing a degree in environmental science in his hometown of Philadelphia…hope to attend graduate school to receive a masters degree in forensic science.
