Biography

2016: Hillard appeared in 14 games for the Devils in his first season, making 35 plate appearances with seven hits and two runs scored and three runs batted in. Hillard recorded a double, with two walks for a .200 average and .263 OBP, along with a .229 slugging percentage. 

Honors and Activities:  Volunteer Little League Umpire…50+ hours of community service through various organizations…received recommendation to the U.S. Naval Academy from Congressman Tom Marino…Jordan Ralston Scholarship award winner. 

Prior to USciences:  Four year player at Blue Ridge High School…Team MVP senior year…District IV First Team all-star catcher as a senior…Catcher for Field of Dreams game…Team Most Improved Player award as a junior…District IV first Team honorable mention all-star…earned Team’s Future award as a sophomore and team’s most valuable freshman award a year earlier.  Had most varsity hits by a freshman…National Honor Society member…Blue Ridge student of the Year candidate… 

Personal: Oldest child of Donnie and Theresa Hillard…decided to attend USciences and play baseball here because of the great balance between academics and athletics…The level of academic excellence at USciences and competitive athletics made it a no-brainer for him to attend and further his education and baseball career.
