Former Saint Joseph’s standout Brianna (Kearns) Lampman, a 2006 graduate, is in her eighth season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with the Hawks.
Lampman stroked the Varsity 8 for three years, including the boat that won the gold medal at the 2006 Dad Vail Regatta and made the Hawks' first-ever trip to the Henley Royal Regatta. In 2003, she rowed for the Freshman 8 that earned silver medals at both the Atlantic 10 Championships and the Dad Vail Regatta.
She previously served as a graduate assistant coach at Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla., from 2008 to 2010. She helped lead the team to a 2010 Sunshine State Conference Championship Title and an appearance at the NCAA Division II Championship, where the Varsity 8 earned third place.
Lampman earned a master's degree from Barry University in movement science, with a concentration in sport and exercise psychology, and later published her thesis on "The Prevalence of Eating Disorders among Division 1 Rowers".
She spent two years on the coaching staff at Philadelphia University prior to graduate school, starting with its inaugural season in 2006. The Women's Novice 8 claimed the Sarah Vaughn Trophy in its first-ever Dad Vail Regatta appearance (2007). The following year the Varsity 8 earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Championship, where they earned a fourth-place finish in the Grand Final.
Lampman is a US Rowing Level II certified coach and a native of Northfield, N.J., who previously rowed for Mainland Regional High School. She and her husband Russ, a former SJU rower and 2006 graduate, live in Conshohocken, Pa.
