Brian Hirshblond

Starting his first season as an assistant coach with the men's and women's track and field programs in 2022-23 is Brian Hirshblond.

Hirshblond, who will be responsible for coaching sprints, jumps, and hurdles, came to Saint Joseph's after after more than 15 years as an assistant coach at Monmouth.

Hirshblond brings nearly 20 years of coaching experience to St. Joe's. For the past 16 seasons, Hirshblond has served as an assistant coach at Monmouth where he coached two All-Americans, one Junior All-American, 65 NCAA Regional qualifiers, more than 200 conference champions, and 128 All-East honorees. Named the 2015 Mid-Atlantic Assistant Coach of the Year, he also guided several Hawks to individual titles at the Indoor and Outdoor ECAC and IC4A Track and Field Championships, along with 58 team conference titles across the men's and women's programs.
 
Prior to Monmouth, Hirshblond spent two years as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart, after beginning his coaching career at Monmouth before that.
 
A standout in track and football, Hirshblond earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Monmouth in 2001. As a student-athlete, he was a two-time MVP and captain for track, and broke 11 school records, while guiding the men's program to its first track and field conference championship in school history. Additionally, Hirshblond was also a part of the football team that captured the first conference championship in school history as well.
