Claire Hewitt returns for her seventh season as assistant coach of the Saint Joseph's women's cross country and track teams in 2014-15. Hewitt (nee Duncan) took over the day-to-day coaching responsibilities of the women's cross country team in 2012 and will enter her third cross country season in that capacity.

Last season, Hewitt coached four ECAC All-East Team selections and an Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection on the cross country scene.

A 2005 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Hewitt was a three-time Academic All-American and four-year letterwinner for the Quakers. She completed her degree in political science and environmental studies while captaining the Penn cross country and track squads.

Hewitt adds valuable experience to the Hawks track and field and cross country programs having coached for three years at the high school level prior to coming to Hawk Hill in 2008. She spent two years as the head girls' indoor and outdoor track coach at Germantown Friends Academy from 2006-08 while also serving as assistant cross country coach.

Prior to Germantown, Hewitt was the head girls' cross country coach as well as the head boys' and girls' indoor and outdoor track coach at Friends Central School in 2005-06.

Hewitt resides in Philadelphia with her husband, former Hawk harrier, Rob Hewitt '04.
