Joining the Saint Joseph's men's basketball program in May of 2025, Bino Ranson serves as the Hawks' associate head coach.
 
An accomplished recruiter, Ranson has helped bring in multiple All-Conference performers to his teams, including MAAC Rookie of the Year, Jay Gavin at Marist. Ranson has also been part of the development of eight NBA players while he was at Maryland, including First Round picks Alex Len, Kevin Huerter, and Jalen Smith.
 
Most recently, Ranson spent two seasons on the bench with DePaul where in 2021-22, he helped the Blue Demons to their most successful season since the 2002-03 effort. For his work in helping to elevate the program, he was named to the 2022 Advancement of Blacks in Sports' (ABIS) Men's Basketball Assistant Coaches Watch List.
 
Prior to joining the staff at DePaul, Ranson was at Maryland for 11 seasons, during which the Terrapins won 221 games. Maryland earned a berth to the NCAA tournament in five of his last six seasons with the team, winning at least one game in four of them and advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2016. In 2020, the Terps were the Big Ten regular season champions and earned wins against four ranked conference opponents during the year.
 
In addition to his stints at Maryland and DePaul, Ranson has spent time at Xavier, James Madison and Marist. He is a 1999 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University where he was a standout player and remains in the school’s top-10 in career scoring (1,899 – 8th), assists (598 – 6th) and three-pointers made (226 – 8th).
