Lynn Milligan Profile


Returning for her sixth year as an assistant coach at Saint Joseph's University is Lynn Milligan. Responsible for recruiting and guard play, Milligan is in her second season as Griffin's top assistant.

Over her first five seasons, the Hawks have posted a record of 92-64 and reached the postseason four times. She has assisted with all aspects of the Hawks' program, including on-court instruction, scouting, game-plan preparation, academic support, and fundraising. Last year, Milligan helped Ayahna Cornish to earn Atlantic 10 All-Conference and All-Big 5 honors.

Prior to joining the Hawks, Milligan spent the previous six years as the top assistant coach at Drexel University. In her final season, she helped guide Drexel to a 19-10 record overall and a 13-5 mark in the America East Conference, tying for second place and advancing to the semifinal round of the league tournament. Additionally, the Dragons boasted the America East Player and Rookie of the Year while also setting the school record for scoring offense.

Milligan arrived in Philadelphia following a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Central Connecticut State. She had spent the previous two years as a graduate assistant for the Rider University basketball and softball programs. Rider posted a record of 35-21 during her tenure.

A 1992 graduate of Rider with a bachelor's degree in communications, Milligan (nee Donovan) later earned a master's degree in counseling from Rider in 1994. A two-sport athlete as an undergrad at Rider, she ranked 12th nationally in free throw shooting as a senior. Also a three-year member of the Bronc softball team, Milligan collected more than 100 career hits and helped lead the team to the 1990 East Coast Conference and 1991 East Coast Athletic Conference titles. The native of Voorhees, NJ, is a member of Eastern High School's Athletic Hall of Fame. Milligan, whohas a twin sister who played basketball at Loyola College (MD), is an active member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. She currently resides in Voorhees with her husband Patrick.
