Liz Sack returns for her fourth season on the Saint Joseph's field hockey coaching staff in 2020.

In her first three seasons with the Hawks, Sack helped guide the squad to sweeps of the Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament championships and the first three NCAA Tournament berths in program history.  In 2018, the Hawks ended the season ranked 10th in the final NFHCA Coaches Poll of the season, the highest ranking in program history.

At the end of her second year on Hawk Hill, Sack was selected to take part in the annual NCAA Women Coaches Academy, a partnership between the WeCoach organization and the NCAA.

Sack completed a successful career at Syracuse in 2017, where she played in four NCAA Tournaments and two national championship games, including the Orange's title game victory over North Carolina in 2015.

“It's great to have Liz back home,” head coach Lynn Farquhar said.  “It's an honor to work with Liz as she transitions from an incredibly hard-working student-athlete, passionate hockey player, and well-rounded teammate to a coach.”

Sack was a regular in the Syracuse lineup in her final three seasons with the Orange, amassing 12 goals and seven assists for 31 career points.  She tallied four goals and an assist for nine points in four postseason games during the Orange's run to the 2015 national championship, the first national crown won by a women's program at Syracuse.

Returning to her native Philadelphia area for the season-opening 2016 Conference Cup tournament at Ellen Ryan Field, Sack tallied three assists in two games as the Orange opened the season with wins over Temple and #6 Maryland.

Prior to attending Syracuse, Sack was named to the All-State First Team as a senior at Merion Mercy Academy in 2012 and was a member of the prestigious WC Eagles club program.

“Liz offers great insight and a mature perspective to our developing student-athletes,” Farquhar said.  “She comes from an outstanding and hard-working Syracuse program, where she helped the Orange win their first-ever national championship.  Liz's aggressive mentality and winning mindset will add flair and strengthen our attacking unit.”

"I am thrilled to be given this opportunity,” Sack said upon her appointment.  “I am looking forward to contributing my knowledge, skills, and abilities to a very competitive program while being in a city I grew up around."

Sack originally hails from Havertown, Pennsylvania.
