St. Bonaventure Shuts Out Men's Soccer, 3-0

PHILADELPHIA - Jon Lopez and Andy Garcia teamed up for two goals in the first half to lead St. Bonaventure to a 3-0 win over Saint Joseph's in Atlantic 10 men's soccer action at Finnesey Field. The loss drops the Hawks to 3-10-1 (2-4-1 Atlantic 10) while St. Bonaventure improves to 7-6-1 (

Lopez scored both of his goals in a span of five minutes. At 14:34, Garcia fed him a through ball and he took a point blank shot on SJU goalkeeper Chris DiStefano. DiStefano deflected it but Lopez collected it right away and scored.

Lopez broke free again at 19:56 with the pass from Garcia and scored from close range.

The Bonnies closed out the scoring by halftime when Garcia took a corner kick that went in the net off of DiStefano.

DiStefano made four saves in the first half and his replacement, Trevor Lyman, made two in the second half. St. Bonaventure used three goalkeepers in the game. Starter Sean Eyde made two saves, Jonathan Blanchard played 25 minutes but did not make a save and Ken Lis played the last 20 minutes, making two saves.

SBU outshot the Hawks, 17-2.
