HUFF, TEKLINSKY NAMED TO ALL-CONFERENCE WOMEN'S LACROSSE TEAM

PHILADELPHIA (5/6/04) - The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team, which recently finished its best season since 1996, placed two players on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team in voting conducted among the league's head coaches. Senior Kristin Teklinsky and junior Courtney Huff were honored at attack and goalkeeper, respectively. It is the first time in three years that a Hawk has been named to the all-conference team and the only time in program history that two players were cited in the same year.

Teklinsky, a four-year starter, finished her career as one of the most prolific scorers in SJU history. The Philadelphia native led the team for the third straight season with 43 goals and 10 assists for 53 points this spring. Her scoring totals were enough to rank her second in the Atlantic 10 in goals per game (3.1) and fifth in points per game (3.8).

Her 3.1 goals per game ranks her 14th nationally according to ncaa.org. Teklinsky finished her career with 147 points and 117 goals, placing her second and third all-time on Hawk Hill, respectively. It is the first time she has been named to the all-conference team.

Huff, who led the Atlantic 10 and ranked nationally in save percentage, earns all-conference honors for the first time in her career. The junior sported a 9.91 GAA (second in the A-10) and a .545 save percentage, which put her 14th in the nationally rankings. She made 157 saves en route to an 8-6 record this spring.

The Oreland, Pa. product has a 9.40 GAA for her career, good for second all-time at SJU, and has recorded 329 saves, placing her fourth at SJU. Huff's .521 save percentage ranks her fourth in Hawk history.

The women's lacrosse team finished its season with an 8-6 overall record and 2-5 mark in Atlantic 10 play. The eight wins tie for the most wins at Saint Joseph's, tying the 1996 team that also went 8-6.
