DALLAS, TX (03/11/03) - For the second consecutive season, the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team traveled to the Lone Star State to take on nationally ranked Southern Methodist. The Mustangs, currently ranked #40 by the ITA, defeated SJU, 6-1 on Tuesday. With the loss, St. Joe's falls to 4-5 on the season.
Freshman Antonio Aniello was the only Hawk victor, taking a 6-1, 7-6 win at #6 singles. Both sophomore Francisco Velazquez and freshman Jimmy Holland both gave solid efforts at #1 and #2 singles, respectively, but both were defeated.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday when they take on Illinois-Chicago at SMU.
