BRADY TO PLAY PROFESSIONALLY IN IRELAND

PHILADELPHIA (6/23/04) - Erin Brady, who recently finished her women's basketball career at Saint Joseph's, has agreed to terms with the Bausch and Lomb Wildcats of Waterford, Ireland to play professionally for the 2004-05 season. Brady will be one of two Americans permitted on the roster as the Wildcats look to capture the Irish Women's SuperLeague for the seventh time in the past 10 years.

A two-year starter at SJU after transferring from American University, Brady was a third team All-Atlantic 10 selection this past season and averaged 10.7 points per game. She led the team in assists (112) and steals (71) and was named to the All-Philadelphia Big 5 second team for the second straight season. The team co-captain scored her 1,000th point on February 26, 2004 at Rhode Island and finished her career with 1,076 points.

"It's been a dream of mine to play professionally," Brady said. "I'm always ready for a new challenge and Ireland is a perfect fit for me. I look forward to beginning my professional basketball career in a few months."

Bausch and Lomb reached the SuperLeague championship but lost to the University of Limerick, 69-42. The Wildcats finished their season with an 8-7 record and open the 2004-05 campaign in October.

Brady becomes the 18th women's basketball player from St. Joe's to play professionally. Saint Joseph's finished its season 22-11 (12-4 Atlantic 10), advanced to the A-10 Championship game and reached the WNIT Quarterfinals. The postseason run was the deepest any SJU women's basketball team had reached in the program's history.
