CAMDEN, NJ (4/18/04) - Under ideal racing conditions, the Saint Joseph's men's rowing had a fantastic weekend overcoming sicknesses and injuries in practically every boat to post a strong finish at the Knecht Cup, which featured crews from all over the US, including California, Kansas, Vermont, New Hampshire and Wisconsin.
Despite rowing mixed lineups, the Hawks fought hard in each event finishing 2nd in the Freshman 8, Lightweight 8, and 2nd Freshman 8, third in the 2nd Varsity 8 and fourth in the Varsity 8. The Men's V8 rowed and inspired first 1000m, leading the pack at the mid-way point, but were unable to hang on down the stretch.
Next up, SJU heads out to the Midwest to compete at the Indianapolis Invitational.
