SPRINGFIELD, PA (4/15/04) - Saint Joseph's University women's basketball standout
Stephanie Graff has been named the team's Most Valuable Player at SJU's 28th annual awards banquet held at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Pa. Graff received one of nine awards handed out by the Hawks, who finished the year with a 22-11 record, reached the Atlantic 10 Championship game and advanced to the Elite Eight of the WNIT.
Graff earned All-Atlantic 10 Second Team after averaging 12.7 points and a team-best 7.3 rebounds per game. An A-10 All-Defensive team selection as well, Graff swatted 76 shots, good for second best in the league, and owns the SJU records for blocks in a game (seven), season (76) and career (175). Graff recorded six double-doubles on the season, including three straight in February to earn Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Player of the Week honors (2/8). Succeeding in the classroom as well as the hardwood, Graff is also an Academic All-Atlantic 10, All-District and Big 5 selection as an elementary education major. The co-captain also received the Co-Best Defensive Player.

Kelly Springman (Most Improved Player). Mr. Bill Leahy shared the Loyalty and Leadership Award with Hoffer.
