DUQUESNE PROVES TO BE TOO MUCH FOR SJU

PITTSBURGH, PA (4/22/01) - Duquesne scored the first four goals of the game en route to a 16-5 win over visiting St. Joseph's in an Atlantic 10 Conference women's lacrosse match on Sunday afternoon. Bernadette Speer tallied three goals for SJU in the contest that pitted the Hungate sisters against each other. Meghan Hungate tallied three goals and added four assists for Duquesne while her younger sister, Shannon, dished two assists for the Hawks. Smith scored two of her three goals in the first period, but the Dukes tallied 10 times in the half to effectively put the game away. Katie Harner had three of her game-high five goals in the opening stanza. Jennifer Enoch and Brett Dymarczyk, playing with a broken jaw, tallied the other goals for SJU while Kris Telinsky added an assist. SJU, 4-8, 1-2 in A-10 play, will play its regular season home finale against La Salle at 4:00 PM on Wedneday afternoon. Duquesne improves to 12-3, 4-1 in league play.
