PHILADELPHIA, PA (5/01/02) - Freshman Francisco Velazquez was selected to the 2002 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis All-Conference team in voting conducted among the Conference's head coaches. Velazquez recorded nine singles victories at the top singles spot, while posting 12 wins at the #2 slot. His 21 wins ranks him tops on the team. He also competed at the #1 doubles slot, racking up another 12 victories. Velazquez becomes only the third player in school history to garner All-Conference honors in the sport of men's tennis. He joins Leonardo Barbosa, who made the team in 2000 and Shawn Farrokh, who made the team in 2001.
