BOSTON, MA (10/21/01) - The Saint Joseph's University men's rowing teams competed at the Head of the Charles Regatta this past Sunday (Oct. 21). The Hawk crews rowed in the premier event, the Championship 8, against the United States, German, French and Dutch National teams as well as the best collegiate teams in the country. The SJU men's boat, consisting of seniors Jim O'Connor and Charles Duncan, juniors Paul Benvie, Brian Pirritano, Jason Bansch, and sophomores Terri Venglarik, Mark Rosenthal, Drew Parassio and John Joyce, finished 38th with a time of 16:50. The race was a great experience for the very young Saint Joseph's crews. The SJU men's and women's teams next compete this weekend at the Head of the Schuylkill (Oct. 27) and Atlantic 10 Head Race (Oct. 28) to finish off the fall season.
