PHILADELPHIA (03/19/03) -- The Hawks won their second consecutive match and moved over the .500 mark for the first time since early February with a 4-2 win over Delaware. SJU dropped the first and second singles matches, but won the remaining four slots to improve to 6-5 on the season.
Sophomore Van Homer Pangilinan got things started with a 6-3, 6-2 win at third doubles. At #4 freshman Greg Chang took home a 6-2, 6-1 victory and at fifth singles, freshman Antonio Aniello was a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 winner. Rounding out the Hawk winners was freshman A.J. Garabedian, who captured a 6-1, 6-1 win at sixth singles.
Freshman Jimmy Holland teamed with Garabedian for a doubles win, but the other two doubles matches were not completed due to darkness.
SJU has little time to rest as it takes on Loyola in Baltimore on Thursday.
