PHILADELPHIA (4/4/04) -- The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team battled both Temple and Mother Nature on Sunday at TU's Geasy Field. Unfortunately for the Hawks, both were too much to overcome. The Owls (3-5, 1-1 A-10) received five goals from Johana Capaldo to race to a 17-5 victory over SJU (3-2, 0-1 A-10) on a wet Sunday afternoon. Junior goalkeeper

Temple opened up a early 5-0 lead before St. Joe's got on the board on the first of Kerry O'Connell's three goals of theh day. The Owls scored five more in the half and O'Connell tallied two more to provide the halftime score of 10-3.
The Cherry and White scored the second half's first seven goals to lead 17-3 before SJU's Lindsay Brown and Megan Gresh found the back of the net.
The Hawks return home for the first time since March 12 for a A-10 matchup with St. Bonaventure on Thursday at 6 p.m.
