AMBLER, PA (4/25/04) - An 11-hit attack and an early 3-1 lead were not enough, as Saint Joseph's (9-34, 3-12 A-10) dropped the rubber game of a three-game Atlantic 10 series to Temple (17-15, 6-6 A-10), 16-6 on a rainy afternoon at Ambler Field. Sophomores

Greg Mason homered for SJU.
The Hawks built a 3-1 lead after three innings with a steady drizzle coming down, but the Owls scored six runs off Hawk starter
Al Braun (1-5) in the bottom of the fourth.
SJU scratched back with a single run in the fifth, but TU added a pair of runs in the bottom half of the frame and put the game away with four runs in the sixth and three in the eighth. Stadanlick and Mason hit solo homers in the eighth and ninth.
The Owls received a complete game effort from Chris Kurtz (4-1) who won his fourth game of the season. Braun allowed eight runs (five earned) on eight hits in four innings.
