BRAUN'S COMPLETE GAME LEADS HAWKS TO SPLIT WITH BETHUNE

BOXSCORE2 DAYTONA BEACH, FLA (3/06/04) - Junior Al Braun hurled a complete game six-hitter to lead the SJU baseball team (2-11) to a 4-3 victory over Bethune-Cookman in the opening game of a twin-bill at Jackie Robinson Field. BCC rallied in game two to top the Hawks 8-2 and earn a doubleheader split. Braun sparkled on the hill scattering six hits and not allowing an earned run to pick up his first win of the year. Jason Tarewicz drove home the game-winning run. In game two, SJU jumped out to a 2-0 lead before BCC battled back for the 8-2 win. Bill McCollum suffered the loss for SJU. Ryan Stadanlick had a couple of hits. The teams return to the diamond tomorrow for two more games.
