PHILADELPHIA (03/27/03) - Saint Joseph's junior guard Jameer Nelson has been named honorable mention All-America by the Associated Press. Nelson, a first team all-District selection by both the USBWA and the NABC and a first team all-Region choice by Basketball Times , led the Hawks in scoring (19.7 ppg.) and assists (142). The Chester, Pa. native, who tallied 32 points in SJU's 65-63 overtime loss to Auburn in the NCAA Tournament, finished the season with the fifth highest single season point total (591) in SJU history. He also guided SJU to a 23-7 overall record and a third straight Atlantic 10 regular season title.
