PHILADELPHIA (05/14/03) - Senior Lauren Foley and junior Megan Gresh have been named to the women's lacrosse academic all-conference team in voting conducted by the Atlantic 10's sports information directors.
Foley started all 15 games at midfield for the Hawks, and scored seven goals and added four assists for 11 points. She ranked fifth on the team in all three categories and added 22 groundballs and 20 caused turnovers. An information systems major, Foley sports a 3.79 grade point average and is a member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's and SJU Athletic Director's Honor Rolls.
Gresh also started all 15 games at defense, finishing second on the team with 34 groundballs. She also tallied three goals on the season, including the game-winner with 40 seconds left in a 10-9 come-from-behind victory over American. Gresh is a biology major with a 3.80 grade point average and is a member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's and SJU Athletic Director's Honor Rolls.
Saint Joseph's finished its season with a 4-11 overall record and a 0-7 mark in the Atlantic 10. This year marks the fourth consecutive season that SJU has placed at least two members on the academic all-conference team.
