PHILADELPHIA (01/20/03) - Sophomore Delonte West, the hottest Saint Joseph's men's basketball player over the last four games, was named Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Week for the week ending January 19. It is the second straight week that he earned the city honor. He was also selected as the Atlantic 10 Conference's co-Player of the Week for the week sharing. the honor with Xavier's David West. West tallied 26 points in both SJU games last week, a 65-55 win at Temple on January 14 and a 58-57 loss at Rhode Island on January 18. He shot 21-38 from the field (.553), 5-12 from three-point range (.417), while averaging 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.
