HAWKS FINISH 15th AT NAVY SPRING INVITATIONAL

ANNAPOLIS, MD (04/07/02) - Paced by juniors Paul Polinsky and Jeff Huntzinger the Saint Joseph's University golf team placed 15th overall in the 21 team field at the Navy Spring Invitational. Huntzinger (83, 81-164) was SJU's top individual finisher tying for 42nd place. Polinsky tied for 56th (79, 88-167). As a team, SJU played consistently, shooting a 335 on day one and following that up with a 334 on day two. The squad's two-day total was 669. In addition to Polinsky and Huntzinger, seniors J.P. Glynn (85, 85 - 170) and C.J. O'Connell (88, 84 - 172) placed 68th and 80th respectively. Sophomore Brian McDermott (90,84-174) tied for 88th place to round out SJU's scoring contingent. Two other Hawks, junior Mike Bosica and freshman Steve Curry, each competed individually for SJU. Bosica had a solid weekend, tying for 61st overall with an 87, 81 - 165. Curry (96, 87-183) , competing in his first collegiate invitational, finished 104th. Minnesota captured the team title by nine strokes over the host Navy. The Hawks will return to the links next weekend at the Lafayette Invitational.
